2008 Volkswagen Jetta 2.5 SE

Posted Friday June 13, 2008, 2:55 am, Over one day old
2008 Volkswagen Jetta 2.5 SE Love this thing almost as much as I love the GTI. Proof that Volkswagen still knows how to build a fun, solid-feeling upmarket economy car, even if it does have all the long-term solidity of a brick of butter baking in the sun.

Ford Wrenches on 2009 Focus RS for Europe

Posted Thursday June 12, 2008, 7:04 am, Over one day old
Not only is the official launch, slated for the 2008 British Motor Show, only a month away, but Ford has also released official "spy" photos of the hot hatch hitting the Nurburgring. We've not seen an RS model since 2003, as it disappeared when Ford launched an all-new European Focus in 2004.

2009 Ford Flex Limited

Posted Thursday June 12, 2008, 7:04 am, Over one day old
So when Ford offered Automobile Magazine a ride around the city during the New York auto show in a preproduction 2009 Flex Limited, we cheerfully piled in. We kicked Usha to the curb - stupidly, since she was the smallest - then cruelly crammed three people into the two-passenger third row.

Toyota to Launch Plug-In Hybrid by 2010 Think Toyota will sit idle while GM works to launch the Chevrolet Volt? During a June 11 conference which focused on its green initiatives, Toyota went on the record as saying a plug-in hybrid-electric vehicle (PHEV) would be launched by 2010.

2008 Nissan Cube

Posted Wednesday June 11, 2008, 2:04 am, Over one day old
Like all Cubes, our test car sported right-hand drive and Japanese-market features, including the clever left-side C-pillar window that helps reduce blind spots for a right-hand-seated driver. The Cube is a small car, but not in the minimalist way that a Smart ForTwo or a Mini is small.

2008 Pontiac G8 GT

Posted Wednesday June 11, 2008, 2:04 am, Over one day old
If fuel still cost only $2.50 a gallon, this G8 GT would be a huge success for General Motors, but I'm afraid the 15 mph EPA rating in the city is going to keep this car in the niche market as long as gas prices stay high. - Marc Noordeloos, Road Test Editor The G8 GT is screaming deal, for sure.

2008 BMW GINA Light Visionary Model Concept

Posted Tuesday June 10, 2008, 2:14 am, Over one day old
2008 BMW GINA Light Visionary Model Concept Like a pair of Spandex disco pants, the surface of BMW 's latest concept hugs the curves and follows every move of the car. Replacing sheet metal with a stretchy fabric, the concept rethinks the function and style of a vehicle's body.

We got to ride along for one hot lap of the so-called "Lutz Ring" road course at the Milford facility today, with GM Performance Division head John Heinricy at the wheel, just as he was during the record run in Germany.
