Footnote.com today announced the addition of thousands of US Air Force photos to their digital World War II collection. This release coincides with the anniversary of the Pearl Harbor bombing, and contains tens of thousands of original World War II photos and documents from the National Archives.

I found not only "Dow" but also "down," "medowes," "meddowes," "dowery," and more. I conducted the same search again, only this time I specified that "Dow" was to be a freestanding word, not a part of another word. This time I found fewer hits but still too many to be useful.
