Fractal Attention Conjecture

Posted Sunday October 28, 2007, 2:36 pm, Over one day old
Resource-limited models of attention have been around for decades. New authorities are discovered, new literature, new subtleties, new paradigms, new disciplines, and one can drill down deeply into what had previously been just a side problem (like Marlowe getting dressed) yet is now the Top Goal.

Testing TokBox beta

But $4M while figuring out how to make money: wow, I’d better go meet some of these guys, then. KMi’s FlashVlog is embeddable in the same way… my little ‘greeting’ in the upper right is exactly this, and our FlashMeeting does multiparty video chat much better.

But he is, by his own admission on stage, a complete and utter a**h*le, so I wouldn’t want him to see THIS posting or have any of the above commentary to go to his head… Oh yeah, I was gonna write about all the great stuff I saw at FOWA.

MSG widget = NetVibes Jabber IM

Posted Sunday October 28, 2007, 2:36 pm, Over one day old
Sure, there has been a Meebo IM module for NetVibes, and also a NetVibes EcoSystem Jabber widget, but Alex Little’s MSG-for-NetVibes provides some nice extras: Our own MSG server happens to be built on OpenFire (you can use any Jabber/XMPP server, in fact).

Launched by Chegg, which has established itself as a classifieds system for students to buy and sell textbooks, among other things, Textbookflix has created a similar system for students to rent text books in the same way that you rent movies from Netflix.

BBC iPlayer: Get Real (hey, geddit?)

Posted Sunday October 28, 2007, 2:36 pm, Over one day old
You think I was kidding about wanting Bob Dylan to sing on key?] I can understand (just) why I need a separate BBC.co.uk membership ID, but when it comes to mandatory double-login to ‘do the business’ (iPlayer and BBC), my forgiving mood starts running out.
