Posted Tuesday July 8, 2008, 2:34 am, Over one day old

Posted Wednesday July 2, 2008, 2:04 am, Over one day old
You see, she's no mere mortal: Chanira is one of three main kumaris, or "living goddesses," here in the fabled Kathmandu Valley. I've come here to the land of Everest to meet the three main living goddesses before they go the way of former King Gyanendra.

Great American road trip: Wisconsin curds and Georgia O'Keefe

Posted Friday July 11, 2008, 1:55 am, Over one day old
One can discover something new or remember a detail known, but forgotten. As we're whizzing through Wisconsin, I'm noticing the scenery and can see why O'Keefe might have been attracted to New Mexico where she spent years painting the desert.
