Thrifty Fun Way Back When

Posted Tuesday May 27, 2008, 12:04 pm, Over one day old
Mom and Dad were green long before it was trendy. There were always shows and things to see. Mom and I were reminiscing the other day and she was saying how difficult it would be some times to get six sleepy kids on and off the subway to go home, but it was worth it.

Memorial Day Weekend Fun

Posted Friday May 23, 2008, 1:13 pm, Over one day old
Since my son has off from school on Friday and Monday, I’m trying to find some fun things for us to do for the long weekend - preferably things I don’t have to pay for. That will be fun for the day - there will be music and entertainment and I think even fireworks.

Fence Update: Maybe Spending More Money

Posted Monday May 19, 2008, 12:46 pm, Over one day old
So this fence project we started a couple of months back? There’s room for our son and dog to run around, but not a whole lot. If the price is right, I’d much rather have someone else install it so the project can be done in one weekend, and we get to see my husband every now and then.

What?s in Your Vegetable Garden

Posted Monday May 19, 2008, 12:46 pm, Over one day old
Last year we planted a dozen strawberry plants and this year they spread to take over half the area we designated for our veggie garden. I think there’s nothing like fresh tomatoes grown in the garden. This is our first year for corn and broccoli so it should be interesting.

Saving Money on Hotels

I’ll save at least $20 to $30 per day on cabs or monorail, plus many of them offer in room coffee and a free continental breakfast which will also save money.

Town Dump Days

Posted Thursday May 15, 2008, 11:39 am, Over one day old
So we’re still chopping down trees and every now and then a fence panel is replaced. Until all the trees are chopped we can’t take down the whole fence, however. Plus, we can get a brush pass as well as a dump pass so now we can bring all of our trees to be made into mulch or compost.
