Words that Leopard?s spellchecker chokes on

Posted Thursday July 10, 2008, 7:35 am, Over one day old
Mind you, I never added any of these to my spellchecker dictionary. The typo:  positiove The intended word: positive The suggested spelling:  positionve The notes: Like the first one, the correct word was among the choices, but again, Leopard decides to have a little fun with our minds.

iTunes 7.7 and the App Store Now Open for Business

Posted Thursday July 10, 2008, 7:35 am, Over one day old
You can find applications in the iTunes Store, but you can’t purchase them unless you have 7.7 installed. In the Applications section in iTunes, you can choose “Get More Applications” and go straight to the App Store, but it hasn’t worked all the time.

Quick Tip: Force Files to Open with Certain Programs

Posted Thursday July 10, 2008, 7:35 am, Over one day old
For instance, if you’re not careful when installing Adobe Photoshop, it will take over all of your picture files, which is super annoying (Preview usually opens all pictures, which I love because it loads sooooo much faster than Photoshop).

Surprises on July 11th

Posted Thursday July 10, 2008, 7:35 am, Over one day old
One of the biggest surprises could come to developers who are not invited to have their apps debut on the app store. The surprise I most want to see is the GPS iPod Touch, and the one I most don’t want to see is a stingy Apple keeping a lot of devs out of the app store.

Using a turn-based tactics format, the usual for RPGs, Ziggy fights to save his brother Zero from the “Mechanical Militia.” If you are getting beat, you can power up your characters (Tune Troopers) by listening to the music that created them.

The REAL Scoop on iPhone 3G Pricing

Posted Wednesday July 9, 2008, 6:55 am, Over one day old
If you are a current AT&T customer and do not qualify for the upgrade discount (i.e. you switched a couple of months ago and got a LG or Treo) you can still get the iPhone at the “early upgrade” price of $399/$499 ($200 off retail) if you get one soon.

It looks like MobileMe will be available on July 10th for current.Mac subscribers, but July 11th is probably when Apple will start selling it officially, and add it back as an optional add-on for new computers.

Connected Flow, makers of the crunchy goodness that is FlickrExport (casts pix from iPhoto or Aperture to Flickr ) has jumped the shark a bit and pre-announced Exposure, a forthcoming iPhone application that will bring Flickr to your iPhone or iPod Touch in ways that Mobile Safari just cannot.

(Let me preface this post with a warning that tweaking unpublished settings can break your system and applications.) You can see feedback from others in the discussion group, tinker with the source code on your own and even submit your own l33t secrets to BlackTree.
