Getting Twhirl and Other Adobe AIR Apps Working on Ubuntu 64

Posted Thursday July 17, 2008, 10:32 am, Over one day old

Posted Thursday July 17, 2008, 10:32 am, Over one day old
When you suddenly get ASP.NET masking that stateless nature, many of those techniques have to be completely changed. | | I have learned to work within that structure, but always wanted something in the ASP.NET ecosystem that was more "webby".

But . . . I'm Special

Posted Thursday July 17, 2008, 10:32 am, Over one day old
Today at lunch someone brought up the rules of the lunchroom fridge. The fridge in question is a surprising exception among workplace refrigerators because it's a remarkably law-abiding place. You head to the lunchroom in anticipation of your sandwich or yogurt or homemade lasagna leftovers.

New Motorized Bicycle Arrived

However, by then, the engines got much bigger and eventually led to the Harley, Honda, and other full-sized motorcycles that you see (and hear) heading down the road. | | Today, there's lots of interest in getting from Point A to Point B with as little of the liquified dinosaurs as possible.

Paralyzed by Overcommitment

I can clearly point to this element being the leader of the pack because of a common situation that has come up at some point during every post I've started to write (and there are currently 23 drafts for this site). | | See, I have WAY too many things going on where people are counting on me.

10 Years

First to see Shelly for the first time in her dress. The music seeped through the windows and a crack in the door and it all started being very real to me. | | Now, 10 years later, many of the details of that day: the ceremony, the dinner and reception, the dance in the barn are all still vivid.

Setting Up Shop in the Shower

If you read nothing but self-help books or nothing but fantasy novels or nothing but political blogs that you agree with, there's not much distance between the stuff in your head and distance is good. | | The further apart the 2 ideas, the more satisfying the idea.

On the 30 Day Gym Experiment

Posted Monday May 5, 2008, 4:39 am, Over one day old
The hope was that at the end of the 30 days, that mechanism in my brain that makes me feel guilty about not doing other stuff would be employed in keeping me going to the gym. | | Measurement | | I used Don't Break The Chain as a quick way to track whether I complied with my rules.
