CreateSouth Conference in April

Posted Monday April 14, 2008, 1:02 am, Over one day old
When everyone is there to share what they know and help others, then the conversations really DO happen on their own. | | All of that is to say that I was excited about the idea of attending CreateSouth and looked seriously at being there.

The Peaceful Spring Snow

Posted Monday April 14, 2008, 1:02 am, Over one day old
As I put on my glasses, the white came into focus and I could see that snow was clinging to every surface in sight. | | The heavy, wet snow of an early spring storm was stacked on every branch and twig; all of the horizontal surfaces had 6 inches of the sticky stuff on it.

Eye Catching Resumes

Posted Monday April 14, 2008, 1:02 am, Over one day old
It's a business arrangement, so treating it like one makes sense. | | When people make that shift, they often start to see their resume's more like potential "customers" of their services (employers) do. And, for that, you should make sure the text itself is optimized.

Beyond Corned Beef, Cabbage and Green Food Coloring: Food for St. Patrick's Day

Posted Monday April 14, 2008, 1:02 am, Over one day old
There's lots of really good Irish food that I'm seriously looking forward to taking part in from the source when we are in Ireland in July. | | Wanting to get a taste in advance of that trip, I headed to my new favorite food/recipe site: Recipezaar.

Amazon.com and Customer-Centric Service

Posted Monday April 14, 2008, 1:02 am, Over one day old
Apparently, you can subscribe to get stuff like pomade delivered on a regular basis. But, you've got to be impressed with a company that just keeps looking for ways to keep customers coming back. | | And, now, apparently, I don't have to ever run out of pomade again. |

Sharing, Writing and Openness

When that filter stops me from writing, it's usually a sign that I probably shouldn't be saying it in person to anyone either because it's not worth saying. | | The thing is that I actually have a filter that's earlier in the process.

The Power of the Proof of Concept

Posted Tuesday February 19, 2008, 10:18 pm, Over one day old
If you end up with more than one method in a POC, you're probably doing too much and it should be broken down into more than one POC. | | I deliberately name the projects and classes with names that can NOT work in the final project.

Using HTMLTidy to Clean Up HTML with C#

Posted Tuesday February 19, 2008, 10:18 pm, Over one day old
The last update to it was back in 2000 or so, but it looked like all of the features I needed were in that version, so I decided to give it a shot. | | To use the TidyCOM library, you add it as a reference and insert your "using TidyCOM" statement in your class.
