Lively launches, but is it relevant?

Posted Wednesday July 9, 2008, 12:55 am, Over one day old
Today was a weird / exciting day for virtual worlds. Now I’m not a fan, or user, of virtual worlds. I did try Second Life for a few minutes but quickly gave up because the engine is bad, and quite honestly I’m not a big fan of spending hours living the life of a fictional character.

Metallica: you are insane (an open letter)

Posted Wednesday June 11, 2008, 12:53 am, Over one day old
I know you didn’t really like Napster making your music available for free all those years ago (even though your fans were still buying albums), and you decided to bring it down. I think you should read about this new “crazy talk” going on out there.

Inspired by Zappos

Posted Friday June 6, 2008, 12:53 am, Over one day old
Here’s a piece from the article : This is a company that?s bursting with personality (…) So when Zappos hires new employees, it provides a four-week training period that immerses them in the company?s strategy, culture, and obsession with customers.

Yay! Totspot opens to the public

Posted Thursday June 5, 2008, 12:53 am, Over one day old
Still, there’s some pretty exciting stuff down the road with the service, so if you have kids, go have a look, I think our team (both on Webreakstuff’s end as well as everyone else behind Totspot) built something really special.

Free doesn?t mean Fail

Posted Wednesday May 21, 2008, 12:52 am, Over one day old
But even if I haven’t, they have my data, their service still is the vehicle through which people hear from me at a more personal level. But don’t underestimate your own value, or think that just because something doesn’t have a price tag, it should be allowed to fail.

OXPC? Thoughts on Windows XP on the OLPC

Posted Friday May 16, 2008, 12:52 am, Over one day old
It’s not like you can just go and change the whole UI to fit OLPC and kids. Or you can, by running apps on top of the OS (just like HTC does with their mobile Touch interface on top of WM6), but that’s just wrong and and a lousy experience for the user.

MSFT and YHOO: It?s finally over

Posted Sunday May 4, 2008, 12:53 am, Over one day old
They both lost because Microsoft comes out of this deal proposal with a failure, while Yahoo will quite likely see its stock value plummet. And while initially my opinion was that a deal would be a bad thing, now I’m not sure, given how the future of Y! seems bleak.
