Cambrian House, a fellow Canadian Company based out of Calgary, encourages people to submit ideas which they will use the community to filter. Their website is very engaging and informative and if they put the same effort into marketing the ideas that come from this, I think this could really work.

HiveLive is an interesting service allowing you to save your bookmarks, notes, wine reviews or account passwords online in either a shared or private form. In a hive you can create different posts with their own types from contacts to bookmarks to reviews.
