Steven Johnson on Outside.in And "Release Early/Release Often"

Posted Tuesday December 12, 2006, 12:50 pm, Over one day old
A recent post of mine about Outside.in, led to a comment from the author and co-founder, Steven Johnson: | | | | |Hey Stowe, great comments (well, except for the part where you said the site "blows" :)) and in one way or another, we're working on all the things you describe.

Anti-PR

Posted Tuesday December 12, 2006, 12:50 pm, Over one day old
I said San Francisco is probably best, since they are headquartered there, and I am there a lot. At first, some PR guy is chasing me to meet with the company reps, based on whatever determination: did they figure out why I might want to do a meeting at all?

The widget on the blog post allows readers to drop photos into his story, authored on a conventional blogging platform, and then they would be displayed on the blog and within NowPublic.

Outside.in

Create profiles for people, where they can affiliate with an infinite number of locales.| | Move to a social media model -- I would willingly tag my location-oriented posts with some beacon defined by Outside.in ("locale:soma/sf/ca" or "zipcode:94107"), which the tool could use to pull stories.

Should take a look at Facebook to get more above the fold. | | Fast turnaround on having new locales approved -- but do we need them to be approved? | | | | | Cons: | | Do I need another SNA? Should have an SMS interface, like Plazes, or Meetro.

Vonage V-Phone

Posted Monday December 4, 2006, 11:48 pm, Over one day old
I saw an ad for the new Vonage V-Phone, and immediately added it to my hall of shame since they don't support Mac: | | | | | | Doesn't seem to work under Parallels, either, according to these two adventurers, although one had it working under Bootcamp.
