The thing is when you go to amazon.com from a referral link they set a cookie and thing you purchase during the session is also credited to your referral. So if you do accidentally order something with your referral cookie set, they automatically detect this and in the end it all works out.

Congress finally passed the AMT fix for 2007 after the Senate rejected their attempt to use Pay-As-You-Go to pay for the fix (which I was in favor of BTW). The tax code in this country is in a sad sad state.
