Why people don't use collaboration tools?

Posted Friday September 22, 2006, 11:43 am, Over one day old
An innovative tool does not just solve people's old problems, for which they were choosing a tool, but also the other way around: people find new solutions with a given new tool. "[I]t's not always a problem that they know they have, so that's tricky."

Folder Marker

Posted Thursday September 7, 2006, 8:33 am, Over one day old
Since the program generates the required Desktop.ini file including the cryptic header, I need only add a line saying: infotip= some label to get another label displayed in addition to the folder name.

To know ourselves and those around us

Posted Tuesday August 29, 2006, 8:32 am, Over one day old
Jack pointed to a test for assessing one's own innovation style, and he values the mutual awareness of styles: "the better we know ourselves and those around us, the better we can work together" 1.

Selling blogs to the non-believers?

Posted Tuesday August 29, 2006, 8:32 am, Over one day old
I think the main problem is not that the word has too bad connotations but that it has yet too many meanings and has not yet sufficiently differentiated into narrower hyponyms. For many of such "free range" knowledge workers, there will be some subtypes of blogs that benefit the enterprise.

Users and styles

Posted Thursday August 10, 2006, 8:14 am, Over one day old
I think that immediate problem-solving is just too special within the large complex of long-term knowledge work, it is soon biased towards abilities rather than genuine styles, and it does, in a way, already favor the analyst over the wholist.

More narrow contexts

Posted Wednesday August 9, 2006, 8:08 am, Over one day old
Citizens don't want the through-traffic, and so the signs obfuscate the major orientation and fob the uninitiated off with the narrow-context direction to the next feeder road.

PKM text translated

Finally, my most-clicked text is translated (except the last sections): Enhancing learning by the use of the computer. It was intended to complement a detailed study guide with some tips for using the personal computer as a tool for thinking support (Personal Knowledge Management).

Office to give up right-brainers?

Word Art or readymade textbox styles with pretty fill effects, but everything beyond that is hidden behind additional controls such as tiny triangles of dropdown panels or even galleries to be scrolled.
