I just learned about the coolest carbon footprint calculator - it's a plugin to Acrobat Connect Pro that shows each attendee how much CO2 was saved. It then calculates the CO2 savings as well as the financial savings that have been generated as a result of using an Adobe Connect Pro Meeting.

Meebone beta brings Meebo to your desktop

Meebone uses Adobe AIR to bring Meebo's services to your desktop through a dedicated app, but it's still in beta. Other IM clients and services -- even Meebo itself -- aren't usually bothered by spaces. But that was our only major issue with the AIR -based app.

Filed under: Developer, News, Adobe FreshAIRApps is, as its name would suggest, a directory of new Adobe AIR applications. Because FreshAIRApps is such a great resource, it surprised us to hear reports that Adobe is upset with the site's owner over his use of the "Adobe(R) AIR[TM]" trademark.

Mac OS X will mount network file shares automatically on most circumstances, although there might be some issues with username and password caching (i.e., some file servers will always ask your Mac for your password, even if you check the?save this password? option).

And might Adobe’s security problems be one reason why the IDPF should encourage the creation and development of open-source ePUB readers—whose tires can be kicked from the start, to at least reduce the possibility of surprises later on?
