Minify CSS and Javascript files. You can also combine the CSS and JAvascript files. Loading and parsing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code is costly. Load assets (even images) on demands. In JavaScript a lookup is done each time a variable is accessed. Avoid using JavaScript for layout.

The one big downside to JavaScript is its runtime environment. If the data you want is not in the page's HTML when you request it in the first place but is only written in later when the page's JavaScript runs then traditional spidering and screen scraping techiques will fail to find it.

Adobe?s Apollo public Alpha is out

Adobe has released the SDK so you can start integrating the Apollo technology into your applications ( guess where we’ll be doing some tests), the Apollo runtime and extensions for Flex Builder, if that’s what you use to develop your Flex applications.
