There is a temptation to just replicate the circle of friends in RL in SL (see, new langauges already); and while I have caught with some folk, I don’t want to use SL as another IM with the same contact list as I have in Skype, GTalk and MSN (and AOL, and Gaim, and Yahoo).

As a brand manager, do not be afraid to come together with own groups for your own brands to be stronger, and do not forget that you are a customer yourself. Harness the brands as business, and when Duran Duran came into SL, the fans came into SL without much knowledge of SL.

(no matter what the projections for 2008 may say) For designers looking for exposure, I think that selecting a particular day of the month to create and distribute your Reviewer Packs is probably an excellent way to make sure you regularly devote a chunk of time to your own PR and marketing.
