By turning comments back on with Blogger and adding SezWho, I don't think I'll be looking back three years from now and seeing the kind of SPAM that's piled up because my commenting service (as YACCS did) had to shutter its doors, but somehow left a window open for spammers to slip through.

Somewhere, some time ago, I remember reading a post -- whose was it, I forget? -- where a woman said: It is Not My Job to do your job, you sloppy reporter, and find some diversity that might make your next Top X List or Conference a bit more interesting.

Why do women in these same roles -- women who know their female colleagues are trying to make a living -- ask something of them that they would never ask of a male consultant in the same business?

They can't seem to wrap their heads around the idea that a black man who holds this belief could be anything other than racist. For forty years between 1932 and 1972, the U.S. Public Health Service (PHS) conducted an experiment on 399 black men in the late stages of syphilis.
