Mark February 23, 2008 as the ten-year, Cluetrain gut-check presentation.  Doc Searls gave a presentation that day in New York, and I just discovered it via his blog post.  It's outstanding.  It's part history lesson and part updated vision.

They must also be able to interact, negotiate, and mediate with R&D, engineering, suppliers, competitors, partners, and other groups, to finalize "feasible" product plans that will meet the customer needs and include all the "relevant" innovations coming from those groups.

IIW2006--the Intention Economy--a Session

This is obviously a topic that engages people's interest and one they find natural to think and speak about. There were four microphones, one of which had to be passed around and turned on and off as needed, so I find it rather amazing that people's voices are generally audible.
