All the other customer touch points (retail, support, marketing, etc.) form the complete user experience. In this role, the product design work is higher-level and the focus is on the transition from business model to user experience (of which an interface design is a key component).

In the past, I always used to reference the work of sculptors when discussing good Web design.?Just like a sculptor needs to know how marble chisels, breaks, and buffs in order to sculpt, a Web designer should know how CSS, HTML, and Javascript construct interfaces within a Web browser.?

These two domains have built up canons of principles and exemplary works that show the application of those principles, but if the people creating UIs haven?t?done their time? studying such, then their own solutions are not as rich or well-informed.

But when we describe the Drag and Drop Module pattern we get very specific. At one hand we want to call out a?timeless way of building? and on the other hand we want to provide specific guidance to crafting a prescriptive solution in context of a user?s needs.
