A day with ICAHD
Posted Monday July 7, 2008, 11:55 am, Over one day old at Velveteen Rabbi
Our first stop was Nof Tzion, a settlement block being built overlooking Jebel Muqaber, the Mount of Olives, and the Old City, all of which are considered part of Greater Jerusalem. I'm much more interested in reading Tanakh as story and spiritual teaching than as history per se.)

Posted Wednesday July 2, 2008, 12:04 pm, Over one day old at Velveteen Rabbi

Going through

Beginning to wrestle
Posted Monday April 28, 2008, 1:02 pm, Over one day old at Velveteen Rabbi
This doesn't mean I'm going to start posting regularly about Middle East politics; it's not my area of expertise, and I still think Israel dominates American Jewish discourse in a way that's not necessarily spiritually healthy.

Sh'ma: roundtable on Israel
Posted Monday February 18, 2008, 1:49 pm, Over one day old at Velveteen Rabbi
Judging from our roundtable, it seems that the next generation of Jews? including those actively engaged in Jewish life? do not experience Israel as a formative, crucial factor... And what would American Jewry look like in the next 25 years if we didn't look to Israel or Zionism as a center?
