Why the fear?] concerns over legitimising ‘rogue’ comments fear of being engulfed by the new workload and, not really relevant for our kind of company [Lee - Gerry said that it was this finding that blew him away]. How can online reputation management not be relevant?!?!?!?!

I’ve just had a fantastic chat with Gerry McCusker over the whole Corporate Social Media issue — why Business in Australia hasn’t taken up the baton, and so on. But few people saw them, The news spread rapidly via the students themselves, through texting and instant messaging.

Senior Communicators need Responsibility AND Authority

That communicator would be the regular, public face of the department or group; they would have to be honest but over time that honesty would work in their favour because, unlike politicians*, they can be shown to be trustworthy and not snake-like of appearance.
