Music The grapevine says some at CES are being told Microsoft will no longer develop PlaysForSure, its proprietary DRM system, a move Microsoft swore up and down it would never make when the company failed to include PlaysForSure support in the Zune line.

Major seizure of blank media, is this news?

Filed under: News, IFPI More proof that, if given their rathers, the IFPI would love to see blank optical media made illegal. In a recent press release the IFPI's piracy prevention team is touting the seizure of a large quantity of blank media as a major victory against pirates.

Filed under: News, iTunes, Apple Yep, it's official. No word yet whether the iPhone really does encompass features of the iPod, but one can only hope. Update : There is at least initial confirmation that the iPhone does double as a music player.. plus it's got a host of really keen features.

Billboard reports that XM also made the leap to positive cash flow in the last quarter of 2006, even if it missed subscriber projections by at least 100,000 (or, 1.4 million, if you're still looking at original projections).
