That's exactly what Juno 's Diablo Cody is doing at LA's New Beverly Cinema from today through July 24th, and it won't come as any surprise to Cody's admirers that the lady's got good taste. Previous guest programmers at the New Beverly have included Edgar Wright, Eli Roth and Joe Dante.

The pre-hype has reached an epic level, sure, but doesn't it sorta take away from films like Hancock or Hellboy II: The Golden Army? I feel like The Dark Knight kinda stomped into town, shoved off a bunch of other films and said, "I'm here now... a little early, so deal with it."

Movie Rights to Last Week's Colombian Hostage Rescue Already Sold

It's a case of truth being better than fiction -- the rescuers flew in on a civilian helicopter and managed to convince the rebels that they had orders to fly the hostages to a camp to meet with a rebel leader; the hostages got on a helicopter and flew away and the rebels were arrested.
