Parallels and OS X Instability

Now, after a reboot, Parallels doesn't load and looking at the loaded kernel extensions shows that in particular vmmain.kext hasn't loaded. There are ways to load and unload kernel extensions and that may be a better solution, but for now, I'm just using Fusion to see what happens.

Can it be that there’s a way to trick Microsoft’s Windows XP Genuine Certificate of Authority install? But we can tell you this much: if it does work, then you won’t even have to do multiple installs but rather use the same HDD file for Parallels.

Vonage V-Phone

I saw an ad for the new Vonage V-Phone, and immediately added it to my hall of shame since they don't support Mac: | | | | | | Doesn't seem to work under Parallels, either, according to these two adventurers, although one had it working under Bootcamp.

Microsoft seeks premium to allow virtualization of Vista

One more reason to not use Vista… I honestly don’t know what Microsoft is thinking here other than placating their hardware vendors. Again, this strikes me as a case of doing a solid for the vendors at the expense of the users.
