VUE

Phil Barker points us to VUE 2, a new edition of the Visual Understanding Environment from Tufts University. While I haven't used VUE, the fact that it has interfaces with fedora, Flickr, JSTOR and Wikipedia caught my eye.

Flickr's new Machine Tags and GPS phones

Sam Sethi reports on the launch of Flickr machine tags which isn't quite the same thing as RDF according to Aaron Straup but perhaps a poor man's RDF. Which is certainly catching the attention of some in the Semantic Web community. That phone is Nokia's first with built in GPS.

Only recently web developers start showing interest in the Strict version of HTML and XHTML because they see the advantages when supporting mobile web sites, RSS feeds, print views, text-to-speech software and options to allow visitors to choose their own style sheet.
