Yesterday a German version of the site was launched and it was done through a crowd-sourcing initiative in which 1,000 members helped translate the site in just two weeks. "Users who added the Facebook translation application were allowed to submit translations inline while browsing the site.

"Fully two-thirds of Americans age 18-29 say they use social networking sites, and more than a quarter in this age group (27%) say that they have gotten information about candidates and the campaign from them? including 37% among those ages 18-24.

[In Swedish only] UPPDATERAT 23.00, 2 jan 2008: Enkäten är nu stängd för nya respondenter, men de som påbörjat enkäten kan slutföra den. Det tog bara ett drygt dygn att samla in nästan 1000 deltagare och jag vill redan nu tacka alla som länkat till den och deltagit.

Pew Internet has just published the results of a new survey called Teens and Social Media. Another interesting finding was that "Only 14% of all teens report sending emails to their friends every day, making it the least popular form of daily social communication on the list we queried."

"Fear drives managers to ban social media at work" writes Ragan.com. I would like to agree with Shel, first because there are reasons to use social media that can have a positive impact on your job, and second because the line between work and spare time is becoming more and more blurry.
