Bishop's Castle came our way through Bill Volk who used to write home improvement/construction type posts for DIYLife. Bishop, who has used 1000 tons of rock so far, and is still adding details, describes his efforts as a "monument to hardworking people."

Christmas presents and parties banned in Croatia

Not ALL Christmas gifts are banned in Croatia. Even the holiday parties without gift-giving are off the list. Perhaps folks in Croatia are like folks in Whoville and will manage to have holiday fun even with the Grinch-like economy lurking in their midst.

One can discover something new or remember a detail known, but forgotten. As we're whizzing through Wisconsin, I'm noticing the scenery and can see why O'Keefe might have been attracted to New Mexico where she spent years painting the desert.

I don't get mad easily, but last summer, I found myself halfway arguing over a small, still in its package wine kit that I didn't know had been left my husband's carry on. The person in uniform hasn't made the rules, but they have a job that can't be all that much fun.
