According to the report, Rivers Run red plans to roll out 100 always-on channels by the end of 2007, possibly including a Second Life news channel. The Electric Sheep Company is staging a event tonight in NBC Universal 's 10 duplicate regions, each of which can hold roughly 50 avatars.

I've often noted that I'm impressed by Wal-Mart's recent eco-friendly moves because of the specified goals and timetables attached to them. Wal-Mart doesn't mention a specific purchase size, but my sources tell me that the company could put solar on as many as 340 stores in the next few years.

Yes, I can imagine when situations like that could be rather annoying as they facilitate providing a strong sense of ignoring those around you, but at the same time there are times when you are actually much better on your own and technology may be providing you with the perfect excuse for it.

Linden Lab altered the Terms of Service for its virtual world Second Life last week. The section [ still ] states that when you submit your content to Second Life, you grant Linden Lab and all users an extensive license to use the content in any way within Second Life.

That's good news for now, but Linden Lab desperately needs to shore up its virtual world infrastructure, from servers to staffers--demand for virtual land has outstripped its capacity to supply servers, for example (over 1,000 island orders are currently on backorder).
