Nielsen's commercial ratings are actually kind of a big deal

Despite my problems with the way Nielsen has proposed the system, that's a good thing. The good news for viewers is that by advertisers and networks having a better idea of what ads work where, the ads that get shown should be more targeted and relevant.

They want stories of how real people are really using their real products. That would be a great way to not only find the passionate sort of user the company is looking for but also show that the company is paying attention to the conversation that's already going on about their products.
