According to the report, Rivers Run red plans to roll out 100 always-on channels by the end of 2007, possibly including a Second Life news channel. The Electric Sheep Company is staging a event tonight in NBC Universal 's 10 duplicate regions, each of which can hold roughly 50 avatars.

Is online video the saviour of niche TV?

Cable TV was supposed to be a boon for niche TV, but even still really good shows cost money. I'm thinking that networks might be able to offer more pilot shows and then, hey if they don't score well put them online. If they are wrong and a cult following appears, then... back to primetime.
